The 'banana belt' or Carolinian Canada is a region in Ontario found south of a line which runs approximately from Grand Bend to Toronto. This blog follows my exploration of the area.
That dark one appears to be a Great Black-backed. There was an apparent Great Black-backed X Herring Gull up there this week. I heard you may be coming to the Sydenham Field Naturalists meeting this week!
Thanks for the help. I will post more pictures of different gulls shortly. Were you are the meeting? I was looking for you, but since we have never met in person, I wasn't sure what you looked like.
I was actually at the LWI meeting on Monday--I should have introduced myself. I was developing a bad cold and by the time of the SFN meeting Wednesday, there was no sense in going with my sneezing and sniffling!
