Today there were many notable spring sightings: Eastern Garter Snake, Painted Turtle, Gold-crowned Kinglet, were among the notable animals seen at Strathroy CA. Eastern Comma and a Mourning Cloak were among the insects witnessed.
Many plants have come into bloom including silver maple and skunk cabbage. Pussy willow catkins are out.
An area birder even got some pictures of a Butler's Garter Snake (endangered) emerging from a tin can!
I almost forgot..got my first mosquito bite of the year this evening. Get out there before the bugs do.
